Commissions/Requests Information

Sun Aug 2, 2009, 9:18 AM
Ok, after much deliberation, I've decided to put together a set of guidelines regarding how I operate and produce artwork commercially. So, if you were ever wondering how you could get me to draw something for you, it's your lucky day!! :boogie:
Any questions? Please don't hesitate to ask! Send me a note anytime - I'm generally pretty good about responding to them. While I do have e-mail addresses listed on my deviantArt profile, I really prefer that you contact me by note (makes my life easier in terms of organization). If you do need to e-mail me at a non-deviantArt account, please PLEASE make your purpose clear in the subject line. I'm paranoid about spam. ;)

Using my images

I put a lot of work into my artwork, so naturally I expect to be credited when somebody else puts it up elsewhere on the web. All of my images are watermarked for the specific aim that they won't be used and distributed without proper credit and recognition. If you want to use one of my images (for an avatar, a banner on your website, as a tattoo, or whatever), I ask that you get my permission before using it. Also, please let me know what you're using it for - I'm not going to send out an image if I don't know where it's going or in what capacity it's going to be displayed. If all goes well and we're in agreement, I'll gladly send you the un-watermarked file. :)

Generally speaking, if I've drawn an image that wasn't commissioned/requested by somebody else I'll probably be ok with you using it for a non-profit purpose, provided you credit me as being the creator of the image. If you are going to be making money off of it, we'll need to talk.

A note about requests

If you're a good friend (and you all know who you are :D ) and you ask me nicely I'm always happy to draw something for you. However, because I'm incredibly busy I really can't afford to be taking requests from everyone and anyone. Sorry. :(

Commissions

I do accept commissions! (Artists have to eat too, haha) For a general idea of what I like to draw most/have the most practice with, please visit my gallery. Of course I'm happy to draw your character or anything that strikes your fancy, though I reserve the right to refuse a commission if I am uncomfortable with the subject matter, demands of the commission, or am completely swamped with work. Pricing is negotiable, understandably, but some rough guidelines are as follows:

Simple lineart tattoo designs - $15
Lineart drawing of subject without a background - $15
-> colored (digital or traditional) - $20
Full lineart illustration/drawing - $25
Full digital painting - $50

What you get:
If the commission is in traditional media (not modified using digital means), I'll send you the original piece by mail if requested, as well as a digitally scanned image by e-mail.
If the work is digital in nature, I'll send you the un-watermarked files (specify your sizes) via e-mail.

Commissions can be used for personal NON-PROFIT use around the web or wherever, but please do still give credit where credit is due (just because you paid for an image doesn't mean you get to say that you drew it). If you're interested in for-profit use I'm open to discussing alternate terms/pricing.

Payment

All of the above-listed prices are prior to shipping costs. Usually throughout the year I am located in New York, to give you a general idea of what postage would be.
Commissions must be pre-paid. Payment via Paypal is preferable, but I also accept Money-Order, Check, or Cash (though you send this at your own risk and I'm not responsible for loss in the postal system).

Hope that clears up a few things! Happy drawing! :boing:

Phew, I feel like I could have gone on forever, commenting in your gallery. I quite enjoyed a lot of what your have here. I am always open to open form (tee hee, pun!), but it can be very very refreshing to read structured poetry like what you've been writing for class.

And so many of your titles caught my eye!! I am terrible with titles, so I am super impressed when I see good ones.

Cheers! :D

I love the asylum, my own padded cell
I'll stay here forever, for outside it's hell.
